we come at it with a teaching philosophy. this is more than just football. everybody here knows that. i focus on people's sons. >> reporter: football practice here starts in the same place each and every day. the library. how much have you read, michael? this doesn't look like much more. >> reporter: it cuts into valuable time on the field, but if you ask natalie, it's a essential part of the team's success. >> knowing that coach will handle anything that needs to be handled immediately is a huge relief and great backup, knowing she takes academics even more seriously than football. >> you're not going to be an athlete for the rest of their lives. they'll have to be productive members of society.

the biggest thing we're going to see is severe winds upwards of 50, 60, maybe 70 miles an hour, down towards nats park, no problem, as they take on the marlins, 85 degrees at gametime, looking good, warm and a bit on the humid side. i do think things will be getting more comfortable as we move on through the night. look at the overnight lows. a nice weekend in the mountains, again you are going to see that potential for severe storms just about everywhere, but pretty request saturday, and then sunday looking great everywhere. high temperatures right around where they are today, in the upper 80s to around 90, and once again we're talking about that severe weather threat. as we look toward the next couple days, 87 on your said, and then just some fantastic weather all next week.
